Entry from: Rhodes, Greece Entry Title: "Rhodes - Carter's Top Pick" Entry: "We finally made it out of Turkey but getting the car on the ferry was quite the ordeal. We ended up having to drive the van up on a tow truck where they then backed up and dropped us down on the ferry. It turns out some other bigger boat parked in their spot so they had to call in a tow truck to get us on. Some other German couple had a car with a trailer and it was pretty entertaining watching them get this contraption on the boat. Anyways, it took awhile to get on the boat and through customs but we didn't run into any problems really - and we're glad it's our last border crossing for awhile! The island of Rhodes was spectacular! It has to be one of the most family-friendly destinations we've been to on this trip. It was a great break for the boys after Turkey. We stayed at the Matina Hotel right on the beach in the city of Pefkos. The hotel was awesome! We had a 1 bedroom apartment for 40 Euros a night and it was very clean and nice with satellite tv so Carter could watch cartoons in English. They had a great children's pool with a slide and a penguin shower, and a fantastic shaded play area with tons of toys to keep both boys happy for hours.
